Elite Space Game Remake in Pure CSS
CTRL ALT ELITE by Ben Evans on CodePen
Open on CodePen ↗Best in Chrome, the author says.
A homage to Elite, the 1984 BBC Micro space game, made as a game in HTML and CSS. Ben Evans used the accesskey attribute on checkboxes so some of the original keys work, but you hold Alt to use them, which is where the name comes from.
When he posted it in 2019, the compiled CSS was about 12k and it only worked in Chrome.
